On June 4th, Greek shipowner Dynacom Tankers Management Ltd. held a signing ceremony for the delivery and naming of the first 115,000 DWT LR2 product oil tanker. The vessel was named “RODOS” and is built by Shanhaiguan Shipbuilding Industry Co., Ltd. (SHGSIC), a subsidiary of Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (DSIC).
It is understood that “RODOS” is a new generation of green and environmentally friendly Afra LR2 product tanker built for the first time by SHGSIC, and is a milestone product in the company’s product structure reform and product upgrading.
The vessel’s maneuvering performance, economic performance, energy saving and green performance are all better than the same type of vessel, with strong market competitiveness. The vessel is classed by ABS, and the flag state of the vessel is Liberia.
With an overall length of about 249.8 meters, a beam of 44 meters and a depth of 21.2 meters, the vessel is suitable for loading crude oil and product oil with a flash point lower than 60℃. The vessel has flexible application range, good portability and seaworthiness.
As previously reported, in November 2023, Dynacom Tankers Management ordered four 115,000 DWT ice-class Aframax product tankers using traditional marine fuel from SHGSIC. This is also an option order for 10 115,000 DWT product tankers that DSIC and China Shipbuilding Trading Co., Ltd. (CSTC) signed with the shipowner in April 2023.
