On May 30, Zhoushan Changhong International Ship Repair Co., Ltd. (Changhong International) marked significant progress across its shipbuilding projects, achieving three key milestones: the steel-cutting ceremony for a newbuild, keel-laying for a vessel under construction, and the successful delivery of completed vessel.
On the morning of May 30th, Changhong International started the construction of the 4th 10,300 TEU LNG dual-fuel container ship (CHB2040) for Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC).
Classified by DNV, the 10,300 TEU container ship has an overall length of 299.95 meters, a beam of 45.6 meters, a depth of 25.0 meters, a structural draught of 17.5 meters and a design speed of 20 knots.
The ship is a new generation of 10,000-TEU dual-fuel container ship jointly developed by Zhoushan Changhong International and CIMC ORIC, with fully shared intellectual property rights. It is also the largest container ship that can pass through the Turkish Straits and enter the Black Sea.
At 8:58 am on May 30, the first 115,000 DWT tanker CHB3011 built by Changhong International for the Greek shipowner NAVIOS was successfully launched.
The 115,000 DWT series is a new generation of LR2/Aframac deep-well pump type tankers developed based on the latest specifications and rules, with an overall length of about 249.9 meters, a beam of 44 meters, a depth of 21.5 meters, and it is classed by ABS Classification Society.
On the morning of May 30, Mediterranean Shipping Company’s first 11,500 TEU dual-fuel container ship started its new shipping journey. This is the first 10,000-TEU container ship delivered by Changhong International, and it is also the largest dual-fuel container ship in Zhejiang Province.
