On May 29th, Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Group’s Yangzi Mitsui Shipbuilding delivered JAL KAILASH, the second new-generation environmentally friendly 50,000DWT MR tanker built for Singaporean shipowner Jaldhi, and the vessel began its maiden voyage.
The “JAL KAILASH” has a total length of 183.00 meters, a beam of 32.30 meters, a depth of 19.10 meters and a designed draft of 11.00 meters. It is a new type of environmentally friendly MR tanker tailored by Yangzi Mitsui according to customer needs.
The vessel has a construction period of 11 months, and was cut in batches in late June 2024. The sea trial mission was successfully completed in mid-April 2025. All test data were better than the R&D set indicators.
It is reported that JAL KAILASH is the fourth vessel delivered by Yangzi Mitsui Shipbuilding to Jaldhi.
In August 2023, Singapore shipowner Jaldhi ordered two 50,000 dwt MR product tankers from Yangzi Mitsui Shipbuilding, increasing the number of MR product tankers at the yard to six.
In addition to product tankers, in February this year, Jaldhi ordered two additional 40,000 m3 LPG/liquid ammonia carriers from Yangzi Mitsui Shipbuilding, which, together with two ordered in October 2023, brings the order book for this type of vessel to four.
Jaldhi was founded in Singapore in 2004 and is part of India’s Bothra Group. jaldhi also has 11 vessels under construction at Yangzi Mitsui Shipbuilding, including four LPG/liquid ammonia carriers, two 66,000 dwt bulk carriers, and five 50,000 dwt MR product tankers, with deliveries from the third quarter of 2025 to the first quarter of 2026.
