HD Hyundai Mipo cultivates talents in the field of environmentally friendly ships

Recently, HD Hyundai Mipo and the Korea Research Institiute of Ships & Ocean Engineering (KRISO) signed a business agreement aimed at developing human resources for industrial transformation in the field of environmentally friendly ships.

Under the agreement, the two sides will strengthen employment training programs related to low-carbon fuels and electric ships, giving priority to responding to changes in the technological paradigm of the shipbuilding industry centered on environmentally friendly and smart ships.

In particular, HD Hyundai Mipo will reorganize the “Eco-Friendly Ship Academy” courses for employees to tailor courses from basic to advanced levels, and will provide case-based training on alternative fuel propulsion systems such as ammonia and methanol as well as liquefied natural gas.

An HD Hyundai Mipo official said, “Through this agreement, our company will endeavor to cultivate human resources, strengthen our technological capabilities, lead a paradigm shift in the shipbuilding industry, and further improve our technology in order to maintain our competitive edge in the global market.”
