CSSC (Tianjin) Shipbuilding Achieves Early Sea Trials for MSC Container Vessel with Record-Breaking Efficiency

On May 5, a container vessel built by CSSC (Tianjin) Shipbuilding under Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (DSIC) for Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) successfully completed its sea trials 7 days ahead of the annual schedule, officially entering the countdown to delivery.

It is understood that this vessel is the first unit jointly built by DSIC’s Second General Assembly Department and CSSC (Tianjin) Shipbuilding, and it is also the first container vessel constructed on the small dock production line. On the basis of fully drawing on the construction experience of the previous vessels, this vessel once again adopts the “two-in-one” sea trial mode. By integrating the test process, the construction procedures are advanced.

The lauching cycle of the vessel is 154 days, and the key cycle of the vessel is 352 days, which is 8 days shorter than the target key cycle of CSSC and 34 days shorter than the key cycle of C16K-9.

At present, the performance indicators of the whole vessel are excellent, and the sea trial integrity is 98.5 points. Next, CSSC (Tianjin) Shipbuilding will continue to strive for excellence and complete all relevant milestones to ensure the timely and high-quality delivery of the vessel.
