Schoeller Holdings orders 2 32,000 dwt heavy-lift MPVs from HPWS

On April 26, Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding Co., Ltd,(HPWS) a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding (CSSC), signed another order for two 32,000 dwt heavy-lift multi-purpose vessels (MPVs) with Schoeller Holdings Group.

Mr. Schoeller, Chairman of the Board of Directors of SHL Group, Rong Yao, General Manager of CSTC’s Marine Business Department 3, and Han Jianbing, Deputy General Manager of HPWS, signed the contract on behalf of the three parties.

It is understood that 32,000 dwt heavy-lift MPV is of the largest tonnage built by CSTC at present. With a length of 179.9 meters, a width of 30 meters and a design draft of 15.5 meters, the vessel is equipped with three heavy cranes of 350 tons, which can reach 700 tons in tandem. And the deck space and capacity are more optimized, which is in line with the concept of green shipping construction and has a better cost performance.

On the same day, the 32,000 dwt heavy-lift MPV (H2469) built by HPWS for Schoeller Holdings was christened as the first vessel to be built. The vessel was named “AAL LIMASSOL” and classed by DNV.

It is understood that HPWS and Schoeller Holdings Group have a deep cooperative friendship. Since 2008, HPWS has successively built for Schoeller Holdings a number of vessels including 1700TEU, 1900TEU, 2700TEU, 2800TEU container ships and 32000DWT heavy lift vessels, totaling nearly 30 vessels.
