ZPMC held a groundbreaking ceremony for the 150-meter piling vessel

On January 18th, Shanghai Zhenhua Port Machinery (Group) Co. (ZPMC) held a groundbreaking ceremony for the 150-meter piling vessel project, featuring the world’s tallest pile frame, the largest piling lifting capacity, the longest piling length, and the strongest resistance to wind and waves, built for CCCC Second Harbor Engineering Co.,Ltd.

This is the largest piling vessel under construction in the world. With an overall length of 130.5 meters, a beam of 40.8 meters, a depth of 8.4 meters, and a pile frame height of 150 meters, the vessel is capable of driving piles with a maximum pile weight of 700 tons and a diameter of 7 meters.

Regarding the core technology, the vessel is equipped with a piling positioning system, which enables deep and distant sea piling positioning accuracy up to centimeter level. It is also the first time to apply diesel-electric hybrid power DC grouping technology for engineering vessels on this vessel, which improves fuel economy and reduces carbon emission. Besides, an advanced piling operation management system was developed to enhance the intelligence and digitalization of piling vessels.
