LR issued ZPMC’s deepwater pipe-laying crane vessel

Recently, JSD6000 deepwater pipe-laying crane vessel constructed by Shanghai Zhenhua Port Machinery (Group) Co. (ZPMC) has successfully obtained Lloyd’s Register (LR) approval certificate, which marks the LR’s recognition of the construction process and excellent performance of the JSD6000 deepwater pipe-laying crane vessel.

The vessel is designed and built independently by ZPMC. It has an overall length of 215.88 meters, a beam of 49.00 meters, a depth of 22.4 meters, a maximum draft of 10.8 meters, and it can accommodate 399 people. JSD6000 deepwater pipe-laying crane vessel is equipped with 5000 tons full-circle slewing crane, J-Lay and S-Lay pipe laying system, as well as international advanced 8-point positioning mooring system and DP3 power positioning system.

It has the ability of shallow water, deep water and ultra-deep water pipe-laying operation by single vessel, which can lay pipes with diameters ranging from 6 to 60 inches, and the maximum water depth of pipe-laying can reach 3,000 meters.

The vessel integrates the world’s advanced ship technology, intelligent control systems and high-strength materials for efficient and safe operations in the world’s deepest ocean environments.

After put into use, the vessel will effectively improve China’s deep and distant sea pipe-laying operation and ocean exploration and development capacity.
