Recently, Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (DSIC) held a naming and delivery ceremony for the “ASP LUCY,” the first vessel of the 115,000 DWT LR2 ocean-going refined oil/crude oil tanker series built for CSSC (Hong Kong) Shipping Company Limited. Following delivery, the vessel will be leased on a long-term basis to the Vietnamese shipping company Asia Pacific Shipping.
The “ASP LUCY” has an overall length of approximately 249.80 meters, a beam of 44.00 meters, a depth of 21.20 meters, and a structural draft of 15.25 meters. Its deadweight at structural draft is 114,800 tons, and its design speed at draft is 14.5 knots.
The vessel is powered by diesel engines and is equipped with a desulfurization tower, enabling it to transport petroleum products and crude oil with a flash point below 60 degrees Celsius; it is intended to operate under a flag of convenience. The vessel is equipped with 6 pairs (12 in total) of cargo oil tanks, 2 slop tanks, and 6 pairs (12 in total) of ballast water tanks. All emission and energy efficiency indicators comply with the International Maritime Organization’s Tier III emission standards and EEDI Phase III energy efficiency requirements, placing it at the forefront of its class in terms of environmental performance and operational economy.
The vessel’s charterer, ASP, is a Vietnamese shipping company established in 2021 that specializes in the transport of dry bulk, liquid bulk, and gas cargoes, and has acquired extensive experience in operating bulk carriers and chemical tankers.
The successful delivery of the “ASP LUCY” marks another significant achievement for CSSL in deepening its relationships with high-quality overseas clients and expanding its refined oil tanker leasing business, and it also signifies that the strategic partnership between CSSL and ASP has reached a new level.
