On September 24, Chinese shipbuilder Penglai Zhongbai Jinglu Ship Industry Co., Ltd. (Jinglu Shipyard) held a naming ceremony for “WECO ISABELLA,” the sixth MR chemical tanker it has built for Hartree Partners.
The vessel is a new-generation MR chemical tanker built by Jinglu Shipyard. It measures 183.1 meters in length, 32.2 meters in beam, and has a designed draft of 11.0 meters. Featuring 20 cargo holds, the vessel is currently one of the most advanced vessels of its type globally and is capable of transporting multiple types of cargo simultaneously.
The vessel is equipped with green and environmentally friendly technologies such as a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) system, a desulfurization tower, and a shaft generator. This has significantly reduced emissions of nitrogen oxides, sulfur oxides, and carbon dioxide, achieving a synergistic improvement in energy efficiency and environmental performance, and demonstrating the innovative advantages of this class of vessel in terms of technical configuration and practical application. The vessel is also equipped with forward pre-swirl stators and a high-efficiency twisted rudder (with a rudder ball), which further reduce fuel consumption and enhance the vessel’s maneuverability.
In addition, the vessel has been awarded the classification notation for methanol dual-fuel readiness, namely: Methanol Fuel Ready Level 2D (TA, BK, FS, ME, AB), 3 (S). This provides the shipowner with maximum flexibility for the future use of green alternative fuels and sets an example for the industry in advancing “green and low-carbon” development.
