Cut Steel For the Third 271,000 m³ LNG Carrier
On September 17, Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding kicked off construction of the third 271,000 m³ LNG carrier, built for the QatarEnergy project project—the H1956A. The vessel is owned by MOL&CSLNG and is the second vessel built for MOL&CSLNG.
This vessel is part of Hudong-Zhonghua’s independently developed and designed series of 271,000 m³ LNG carriers. With a total length of 344 meters, a beam of 53.6 meters, and a draft of 27.2 meters, it incorporates the latest energy-efficient and environmentally friendly design and is equipped with a high-efficiency propulsion system and an intelligent control system. It is capable of significantly reducing energy consumption and carbon emissions, and complies with the latest environmental requirements of the International Maritime Organization (IMO).
H1795A Vessel Successfully Completes “Two-in-One” Sea Trials
On September 14, the vessel (Hull N.o H1795A) for the QatarEnergy LNG project successfully completed its “two-in-one” sea trials.
During the sea trials, all trial operations proceeded smoothly, with the completion of numerous sea trial items, including speed tests, endurance trials, unmanned engine room operations, and overall performance evaluations. Notably, the unmanned engine room inspection in gas mode passed on the first attempt with zero alarms. Hudong-Zhonghua is making every effort to address the sea trial observations, implementing corrective actions item by item to ensure a closed-loop resolution, and is making a final push toward the high-quality delivery of the vessel.
