Chizhou Tianyu Shipbuilding Lands $31.5M Feeder Container Ship Order from Kamal & Adel

Shipping broker Bancosta reports that overseas shipowner Kamal & Adel has placed an order with Chizhou Tianyu Shipbuilding for one 1,710-TEU feeder container ship, with a construction cost of approximately $31.5 million per vessel.

This is yet another shipbuilding project recently announced by Chizhou Tianyu Shipbuilding. The shipyard had previously won a contract to build a 25,000-metric-ton deck cargo ship for China Offshore Engineering, with a contract value of 198 million yuan (approximately $29 million); the vessel is scheduled to be completed and delivered by October 31, 2027.

Records indicate that Chizhou Tianyu Shipbuilding was established in 2010. It specializes in offshore engineering vessels for foreign trade, deck cargo ships, container ships, and inland cargo ships, and is a key export shipyard at the Chizhou Gui’chi Shipbuilding Base.

Earlier this year, Chizhou Tianyu Shipbuilding also secured an order for a 64.8-meter AHTSS offshore platform multi-purpose workboat. The shipowner for this order is Hong Kong Word Engineering Co., Ltd., and it marks the first foreign-trade shipbuilding order secured by the Gui’chi Shipbuilding Industrial Base in 2026.
