Jiangxi Xinxiangsheng Shipbuilding Secures 1+1 1,600 TEU Ocean‑Going Container Vessel Order

On July 15, Jiangxi Xinxiangsheng Shipbuilding held a signing ceremony with Zhejiang Runyang Shipping for the construction of 1+1 1,600 TEU international unrestricted navigation container ships.

Xinxiangsheng Shipbuilding stated that this batch of vessels are ocean-going vessels designed for unlimited navigation zones; unlike domestic coastal or river-to-sea container ships, they are subject to higher construction specifications and inspection standards.

This vessel has an overall length of 154.5 meters, a beam of 26.3 meters, a depth of 14.5 meters, and a structural draft of 10.3 meters. It is capable of carrying containers of various sizes, features a well-designed layout and high cargo-carrying efficiency, and is highly suited to the demands of deep-sea trunk line transportation, fully meeting the stringent requirements of cross-ocean, long-distance deep-sea shipping operations.

In addition to container ships, Xinxiangsheng Shipbuilding recently signed a contract with an overseas shipowner to build 1+1 7,999 DWT oil and chemical product tankers.

Xinxiangsheng Shipbuilding was formally established in December 2024 in Pengze County, Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province, succeeding the former Jiujiang Xiangsheng Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. Under a “rescue plan” spearheaded by the Jiujiang municipal and Pengze county governments, the company underwent an asset restructuring involving the introduction of a strategic investor from Fujian; it now stands as one of the three key projects driving Jiujiang City’s initiative to build a shipbuilding industry worth over 100 billion yuan.

Xinxiangsheng Shipbuilding features a 10,000-ton class outfitting wharf, a 50,000-ton class semi-dry dock (equipped with a 400-ton gantry crane), two 35,000-ton class semi-dry docks, and a 30,000-ton class slipway. Focusing on high-value-added vessels such as LNG-powered ships and chemical tankers, the shipyard has an annual production capacity of 200,000 deadweight tons (DWT) and an annual output value of RMB 2 billion at full capacity.
