Fincantieri Signs MoUs with Two Croatian Shipyards to Strengthen Local Partnership for Multi‑Role Corvette Program

Fincantieri announced the signing of two Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) with the Croatian shipbuilding companies Brodotrogir Cruise d.o.o and Iskra Shipyard LLC, as part of the Group’s participation in the ship acquisition program for two Multi-Role Corvettes (MRC), promoted by the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Croatia.

The signing ceremonies were held at the respective headquarters of the companies, in the presence of Mauro Manzini, Vice President Sales of the Naval Ships Division of Fincantieri, Mateo Tramontana, CEO of Brodotrogir Cruise d.o.o, and Roko Vuletic, Chairman of the Management Board of Iskra Shipyard LLC.

The Memorandums of Understanding aim to combine the experience of Fincantieri, a world leader in shipbuilding, with the consolidated industrial capabilities of the Croatian partners, encouraging a growing involvement of the latter in the project. The agreements are part of the Group’s approach to international markets, based on the development of long-term industrial partnerships and the transfer and consolidation of skills, technologies and know-how at a local level. In Croatia, this approach is aimed at strengthening the national shipbuilding and maritime ecosystem through increased industrial cooperation and new localization opportunities.

The agreements define the scope of reference to explore possible forms of collaboration in design, engineering and shipbuilding activities in support of Fincantieri’s proposal for the MRC program. Through the involvement of Croatian industrial partners in the main stages of the value chain, the initiative aims to develop local expertise, increase national industrial participation and generate long-term value for the country.

The initiative is part of the ongoing dialogue between Italy and Croatia in the defence sector and reflects the Group’s commitment to contribute to strengthening industrial and technological cooperation between the two countries.
