New Dayang Shipyard Inks Two‑Vessel Bulk Carrier Deal with Zhejiang Shipping

Recently, New Dayang Shipyard, a subsidiary of Sumec Marine, held a signing ceremony with Zhejiang Shipping for a contract to build two 64,000 DWT bulk carriers.

According to a previous bid award announcement for a public tender project involving the construction of two 64,000 DWT bulk carriers, New Dayang Shipyard was awarded the contract with a bid of 519.6 million yuan. Based on this figure, the construction cost per vessel is approximately 259.8 million yuan, and the new vessels are expected to be delivered by March 31, 2030, and June 30, 2030, respectively.

The two 64,000 DWT bulk carriers, as specified in the announcement, feature steel single‑hull, single‑deck, single‑propeller, diesel‑powered design for global trading, and are suited for carrying coal, iron ore, bulk/bagged grain, steel coils, and other dry bulk goods.

To date, New Dayang Shipyard has delivered over 160 vessels in the “Crown 63” series, with production schedules extending to 2030.
