On July 13, Jiangsu Soho Chuangke Shipbuilding held a signing ceremony with Hong Kong-based KC Maritime for a contract to build two new 63,500 DWT bulk carriers. Since its restructuring, Jiangsu Soho Chuangke Shipbuilding has secured orders for a total of 37 vessels in this 63,500 DWT bulk carrier series.

The 63,500 DWT bulk carrier covered by this contract is powered by a single engine and single propeller. The vessel has a length of 199.9 meters, a beam of 32.26 meters, a depth of 18.9 meters, a structural draft of 13.5 meters, a service speed of 13.5 knots, and a maximum range of 20,000 nautical miles. Thanks to its outstanding green, eco-friendly, and energy-efficient characteristics, this ship type has become one of the most sought-after mainstream designs in the current international shipping market.
