CSSC Beihai Shipbuilding Delivers 22nd 210,000 DWT Bulk Carrier “Mineral Lietuva” to CMB.TECH

On June 29, CSSC Beihai Shipbuilding, in collaboration with China Shipbuilding Trading Co., Ltd. (CSTC), successfully delivered the “Mineral Lietuva”—a 210,000 DWT bulk carrier—to the renowned Belgian shipping company CMB.TECH. This vessel marks the 22nd 210,000 DWT bulk carrier delivered by Beihai Shipbuilding to CMB.TECH, signifying that the company has exceeded its delivery target for the first half of the year.

Independently developed and designed by Beihai Shipbuilding, this vessel type measures 299.99 meters in length and 50 meters in beam, with a design speed of 14.5 knots; it complies with IMO Tier III nitrogen oxide (NOx) emission standards and EEDI Phase III environmental regulations, boasting world-leading performance specifications.

Upon delivery, the vessel will be deployed for global bulk commodity transport, primarily serving major trade routes—such as those from Brazil and Australia to Europe and Asia—to carry iron ore, coal, and other cargoes. With its 210,000-deadweight-ton capacity and excellent speed, the vessel will help CMB.TECH enhance the efficiency of its global dry bulk logistics operations.

Beihai Shipbuilding stated that the successful delivery of the “Mineral Lietuva” validates the company’s ability to adapt its manufacturing processes and maintain quality control under extreme conditions, further solidifying its technical edge in the construction of large bulk carriers. This achievement also marks a significant step forward for Beihai Shipbuilding in terms of its capabilities for building eco-friendly, high-efficiency bulk carriers, its lean production management system, and its reputation for international cooperation.
