CSSC Chengxi Shipyard Signs Contract for Two 50,000 DWT MR Tankers with EGPN

On May 25, CSSC Chengxi Shipyard, a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC), together with China Shipbuilding Trading Co., Ltd. (CSTC) and EGPN Bulk Carrier Co., Ltd (EGPN), signed a contract via video link to build two 50,000 DWT MR oil and gas tankers.

CSSC Chengxi Shipyard stated that this 50,000 DWT MR oil and chemical carrier is a high-tech, high-performance vessel independently developed by CSSC Chengxi Shipyard, with all performance indicators reaching international advanced levels.

It is designed with a large cargo capacity and strong loading capability, capable of simultaneously carrying multiple different types of cargo. Furthermore, in terms of environmental protection, its emissions meet the International Maritime Organization’s T3 requirements and the third-tier standard of the ship energy efficiency index, reaching international advanced levels.
