GTT announces that it has received, in the second quarter of 2026, an order from HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering (HD KSOE) for the tank design of two new Liquefied Natural Gas Carriers (LNGCs), on behalf of Sonangol, the ship-owner.
The LNGCs will be built by the shipyard HD Hyundai Samho, each with a capacity of 174,000 m³. The cryogenic tanks of the vessels will be equipped with the Mark III Flex membrane containment system developed by GTT.
Delivery of the vessels is scheduled by the third quarter of 2029.
On April 8, HD KSOE announced that it had signed a contract with Sonangol Shipping, the Angolan state-owned shipping company, to build two 174,000 cubic meter liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers, with a total order value of 770.2 billion won (approximately US$510 million).
