On May 26, COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry (Zhoushan) officially delivered the 63,600 DWT bulk carrier NEW PROVIDENCE to NEW VISION SHIPPING.
The “NEW PROVIDENCE” has an overall length of 199.9 meters, a beam of 32.26 meters, and a draft of 18.85 meters. It is the 30th 63,600 DWT bulk carrier delivered by COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry (Zhoushan). This vessel type was independently developed and designed by the COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry Design & Research. It integrates low-carbon, energy-efficient, eco-friendly, and high-performance features, meeting the latest HCSR Common Rules, international emission standards, and Phase 3 requirements of the Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI). With excellent economic performance and market adaptability, it is one of the flagship premium vessel types launched by COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry (Zhoushan) for the global market.
Since construction of this series of vessels began in 2023, COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry (Zhoushan) has established a standardized, streamlined, and efficient construction model through continuous lean management and process optimization. Currently, the shipyard lay-up cycle has been optimized to 48 days, and the docking cycle is kept within 55 days, laying a solid foundation for subsequent batch deliveries.
