Recently, Wuhu Shipyard successfully held a steel cutting ceremony for a 50,000 DWT IMO II-class product/chemical tanker at its Weihai base.

The vessel has an overall length of 182.75 meters, a beam of 32.2 meters, and a draft of 19.1 meters, with a designed deadweight of 50,000 tons. With a service speed of 14.5 knots and the ability to operate in unlimited navigation areas, it boasts exceptional transoceanic performance, enabling it to navigate the world’s major seas.
In terms of cargo transportation, the 9+1 design layout of the cargo and fuel oil tanks creates a flexible and efficient transport system capable of meeting the loading and transportation needs for a wide range of cargoes, including crude oil, refined products, and chemicals. Its high versatility provides shipowners with robust support in the complex and ever-changing global logistics market.
It is worth noting that, from a technical standpoint, the vessel employs high-efficiency vacuum recovery technology. By utilizing a vacuum system, it can rapidly and thoroughly clean and collect residual oil and chemicals from the cargo holds, achieving a residual rate of less than 0.1%. This outperforms standard industry cargo hold cleaning systems (which typically have a residual rate exceeding 0.5%) and meets stringent environmental and operational efficiency requirements.
