Zhoushan Changhong International Holds Keel-Laying Ceremony for Second 11,400 TEU LNG Dual-Fuel Container Ship

On April 10, Zhoushan Changhong International held a ground-breaking ceremony for second vessel (CHB2060) of the 11,400 TEU LNG dual-fuel container ship series being built for OCEANROUTES. This is the second vessel in the series of 18 vessels, marking Changhong International’s official entry into the continuous construction phase of this bulk order.

This series of vessels was jointly developed and designed by CIMC Ocean Engineering Design & Research Institute (CIMC ORIC) and Changhong International, and represents the project with the largest number of orders for a single 10,000-TEU vessel type to date. The vessel adopts key technologies such as wide-body optimization design, application of lightweight materials and dual-fuel system integration, and has overcome many core challenges in terms of economy, lightweighting, system integration and construction technology, which has important benchmark significance.

The vessel has an overall length of approximately 299.95 meters, a beam of 48.20 meters, and a draft of 27.0 meters, and is classified by DNV. Through the application of various energy-saving technologies—including wind deflectors, energy-saving ducts, and high-efficiency twisted rudders—the vessel effectively reduces main engine fuel consumption, meets the latest regulatory requirements, and achieves an energy-saving target of over 30% below the EEDI Phase 3 standard.
