Recently, Jiangmen Hangtong Shipbuilding Company held the keel-laying ceremony for the Hailing Island No.1 semi-submersible aquaculture platform, marking the official kickoff of the project’s full-scale construction. The platform is being built by the company under the auspices of the Fourth Harbor Engineering Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China Communications Construction Co., Ltd. (CCCC).

Hailing Island No. 1, with an overall length of 82 meters, a beam of 36 meters, and a height of 21.5 meters, features an enclosed aquaculture water volume of 44,000 cubic meters and is classified by the China Classification Society.

This platform integrates advanced systems including intelligent feeding, environmental monitoring, and disease early warning, enabling intensive, intelligent, and green aquaculture practices.
As the first-phase project of the Ecological Marine Ranch Innovation Park on Hailing Island, this platform is designed to realize the model of “large fisheries driving small ones” through innovation in development models and the construction of a complete industrial chain. It will build a supply base for pollution-free agricultural and fishery products in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, foster the marine-based flying economy, and serve the development of a Strong Marine Province.
