On January 14th, Chengxi Shipyard delivered the second 17,000DWT asphalt carrier built for Kumiai Senpaku Co., Ltd. This indicates that Chengxi has constructed and delivered a total of six asphalt tankers with deadweight tonnage of 7,800t, 37,000t and 17,000t respectively to Kumiai to date.

Mr. Luo Fuxiang, General Manager of Chengxi Shipyard (Yangzhou) Co., Ltd, extended his welcome to all the guests, giving an account of the joint efforts of the shipyard with the owners and surveyors which enabled all the people to gather for this milestone. He looks forward to cooperating with Kumiai in a more extensive way in the future.Mr. Mohd Hafez Bin Zainuddin, Senior Executive of Kumiai Senpaku, delivered an address on behalf of Nobutaka Mukae, President of Kumiai Senpaku, extending his appreciation to Chengxi for the splendid workmanship and expertise poured into the construction by all the management and working staff. He highlighted that the unwavering support and cooperation from Chengxi made it possible for both companies to achieve continuous success in terms of ship repair as well as newbuilding projects.

Godmother Ms Hezlina Mohd Rohani named the new ship “White Alba”, wishing her smooth sailing and bring good fortune to the owner and all people sailing with her.
The new vessel “White Alba” is designed to be a single-screw, single-rudder ship propelled by a low-speed diesel engine. It is mainly for transporting high-temperature liquid cargoes such as asphalt and product oil (F.P.>60℃). With an overall length of 160 meters, a molded breadth of 23.5 meters, a designed draft of 8.5 meters and a service speed of 13.5 knots, this vessel is a benmark project tailor-made for Kumiai Senpaku Co., Ltd.
