On January 12, CSSC Beihai Shipbuilding, in collaboration with China Shipbuilding Trading Co., Ltd. (CSTC), delivered the 319,000 DWT ammonia-ready Very Large Crude Carrier (VLCC) “EBURONES” to EURONAV, a subsidiary of Belgium’s CMB.TECH Group, eight months ahead of the contractual delivery date.

EBURONES is the second VLCC built by Beihai Shipbuilding for EURONAV. With an overall length of 339.5 meters, a beam of 60 meters, and a draft of 30.3 meters, it has a design speed of 14.5 knots and is classed by ABS.
Beihai Shipbuilding fully absorbed the experience gained from the first vessel, achieving early completion of several key milestones through meticulous planning and efficient collaboration. The vessel achieved a launching integrity score exceeding 90%, significantly shortening the underwater construction period; the sea trial period was shortened by 4 days compared to the first vessel; after the sea trials, Beihai Shipbuilding precisely controlled key milestones, ultimately achieving delivery 8 months ahead of schedule, demonstrating Beihai Shipbuilding’s excellent construction efficiency and management level. The shipowner and ABS classification society both highly praised the project’s performance in terms of safety, quality, and schedule.

The successful early delivery of the EBURONES further deepens the strategic partnership between Beihai Shipbuilding and its key international clients in the green shipbuilding sector. It demonstrates Beihai Shipbuilding’s design and construction capabilities in the high-end large oil tanker sector, continuously enhancing the company’s competitiveness and brand influence in the international market.
Less than half a month into 2026, Beihai Shipbuilding has also made great strides in the new shipbuilding market, having already undertaken 1+1 VLCCs, 1 Suezmax tanker, and 2 210,000 DWT bulk carriers.
