New Dayang Shipyard Hands Over Three Bulk Carriers

On January 8, the fourth 41,000 DWT Handymax bulk carrier “IOANNA”—constructed by New Dayang Shipyard, a subsidiary of SUMEC Group, for Greek shipowner Byzantine—was successfully delivered.
The “IOANNA” marks the final vessel in this series of four identical ships.

It is understood that this vessel type was designed and developed by Shanghai Ship Research and Design Institute (SDARI), representing an upgraded version of the classic Green Dolphin 40 series of handysize bulk carriers.

This vessel type offers a highly competitive transportation solution for clients through its optimized shallow-draft design, maximizing cargo capacity while maintaining extremely low fuel consumption, complying with the latest environmental regulations, and featuring a crane for self-loading and unloading capabilities.

Additionally, on January 6, New Dayang Shipyard successfully delivered two Crown 63 3.0 bulk carriers, the Achilles and the Ares, built for Monaco-based shipowner TMA.

The Crown 63 3.0 bulk carriers delivered this time represent SUMEC Group’s flagship product, meeting EEDI 3 energy efficiency standards and Tier III environmental requirements with significant green and energy-saving advantages.
