On January 7, CSSC (Tianjin) Shipbuilding—a subsidiary of Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (DSIC)—delivered the Cape Olympus, the first 115,000 DWT product tanker built for Greece’s CAPE SHIPPING, 83 days ahead of schedule, marking a robust start to the company’s production operations in the new year.

The Cape Olympus is approximately 249.80 meters long, 44.00 meters wide, and 21.20 meters deep, with a design draft of 13.75 meters and a structural draft of 15.25 meters. It has a deadweight capacity exceeding 115,000 tons and a cargo oil loading rate of 12,000 m³/h. It is a well-designed product tanker that embodies the principles of “economy, green technology, and environmental protection.”
The vessel complies with the latest regulations: MSC.337(91), PSPC, double-hull protection for fuel tanks, NOx emissions, and other requirements. Equipped with energy-saving devices such as bow thrusters and rudder balls, its Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI) is over 30% below the Phase 0 baseline, meeting Phase 3 energy efficiency requirements—an internationally leading indicator. Main engines and generators utilize SCR systems to comply with NOx Tier III emission standards, while an open desulfurization tower ensures compliance with SOx emission regulations.

The vessel features outstanding speed, low energy consumption, and strong adaptability. Its main equipment, including the main engine, is domestically produced, achieving leading levels in overall performance, environmental protection and reliability.
