Mawei Shipbuilding Delivers 7,500 CEU LNG Dual-Fuel PCTC to Sallaum Lines Four Months Ahead of Schedule

On January 6, Mawei Shipbuilding, a subsidiary of Fujian Shipbuilding Industry Group Corporation (Fujian Shipbuilding), successfully delivered the 7,500 CEU LNG dual-fuel PCTC to Sallaum Lines, four months ahead of schedule. This achievement marks the company’s strong start to the first quarter of 2026.

Classed by ABS, this vessel has an overall length of 199.9 meters, a beam of 38 meters and a maximum draft of 10 meters. The vessel’s propulsion system features a single engine with a single propeller, utilizing an LNG dual-fuel main engine, a single bow thruster, and an electric RORO system. Its cargo hold accommodates 13 vehicle decks. Primarily designed for transporting various vehicles including heavy trucks and packaged dangerous goods, it is also capable of carrying hydrogen and natural gas-powered new energy vehicles on decks 11, 12, and 13.

During the construction process, Mawei Shipbuilding fully leveraged its experience in building similar vessels, refined its modular construction techniques, implemented integrated hull, outfitting, and painting operations, and actively adopted advanced technologies such as ERP/MES systems, intelligent welding robots, and laser cutting, resulting in a further reduction in the dry dock period.

Simultaneously, through meticulous control throughout the entire process, the vessel completed its first oil and gas sea trials in just three days and nights. Ultimately delivered nearly four months ahead of schedule, this achievement fully demonstrates Fujian Shipbuilding’s technical prowess and project management capabilities in the design and construction of car carriers.

Starting with this delivery, Fujian Shipbuilding will continue to pursue innovation-driven development and lean manufacturing, actively seize opportunities in the green ship market, and continuously enhance its capabilities in constructing high-end vessels.
