On December 26, Shandong Luhai Equipment Group successfully partnered with Singapore’s Bohwa Group, signing a contract for 3+2 17,500 DWT multi-purpose vessels. Following its previous projects in chemical tankers and offshore tugboats, this marks another breakthrough in the Southeast Asian market.
The 17,500 DWT multi-purpose vessel measures 145.65 meters in overall length, 22.80 meters in beam, and has a design draft of 8.30 meters. Equipped with two 80-ton cranes, it is classed by Bureau Veritas (BV). Featuring a bow-steering design, the vessel offers enhanced safety, environmental protection, and green energy efficiency compared to similar vessels.
Bohwa Group is an international shipping enterprise headquartered in Singapore, with operations spanning vessel management, maritime logistics, and shipping asset management. This collaboration marks an important beginning for both parties in jointly exploring the international shipping market.

The 12,600 DWT multi-purpose vessel measures 149.9 meters in length overall, 22.8 meters in beam, and has a design draft of 7.5 meters, enabling flexible loading of oversized cargo such as wind power equipment and offshore engineering modules. Featuring green energy efficiency, superior maneuverability, and strong cargo-handling capabilities, it represents a new generation of multi-purpose vessels designed for green, low-carbon, and environmentally friendly operations.
