On October 17, Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding named the vessels “Mihzham” and “Doushani” for QatarEnergy’s project on the same day. The naming guest, Ms. Eira Sherivati Abdul Rahman, officiated the naming of the two vessels.
This naming ceremony marks that Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding has accomplished the delivery of 2 vessels, the naming of 2 vessels, the launching of 3 vessels, and the keel laying of 3 vessels within 8 days. It has handed over an excellent performance in doubling the LNG carrier production capacity and set a peak record in domestic LNG carrier construction. Up to now, Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding has successfully delivered 54 LNG carriers of various types and is further advancing intelligent design and lean production.
Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding stated that the two newly named LNG carriers of the Changheng series integrate cutting-edge design, low-carbon technology, and intelligent systems. These vessels represent the eighth and ninth LNG carriers built by the company for QatarEnergy’s projects, and also mark the first batch of vessels delivered to Malaysia International Shipping Corporation (MISC).
During the construction process, the construction team of Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding fully implemented lean management and digital construction, actively applied new technologies and new construction methods, set schedule improvement goals for key projects, and implemented the “Three-Day Integrated Planning” management model. This enabled precise control of the production progress and achieved multiple breakthroughs.
