DSIC’s SHGSIC Delivers LR2 Tanker 123 Days Early to Dynacom

On September 30, Shanhaiguan Shipbuilding Industry Co., Ltd. (SHGSIC), a subsidiary of Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Corporation(DSIC), held a signing ceremony for the delivery of the 115,000 DWT LR2 product tanker KARPATHOS, built for Greece’s Dynacom Tankers Management Ltd.

The vessel’s in-dock construction period was only 97 days, with a key construction period of 176 days. It set a new record for SHGSIC completing sea trials for an oil tanker (taking only 5.6 days) and was delivered 123 days ahead of the contractual delivery date.

The vessel commenced sea trials 24 days ahead of the annual schedule, achieving an operational readiness score of 97.4 points, with significant reductions in both the underwater construction cycle and critical path duration compared to the previous vessels.

It is reported that the vessel is classed by ABS and registered under the Liberian flag. Its maneuverability, economic performance, and energy-saving eco-friendly capabilities all surpass those of similar vessels, granting it strong market competitiveness.

The vessel measures about 249.8 meters in overall length, 44 meters in beam, and 21.2 meters in depth. It is designed to carry crude oil and refined petroleum products with a flash point below 60°C. The ship offers flexible application with excellent port adaptability and seaworthiness.
