Marco Polo Marine to Expand Fleet with Two New AHTS Vessels for Offshore Energy Markets

Marco Polo Marine, a Singapore-based offshore vessel operator and shipbuilder, will expand its fleet with the construction of two new Anchor Handling Tug Supply (AHTS) vessels.

The two new vessels, valued at approximately $34 million, are scheduled for delivery in 2026. Upon completion, Marco Polo Marine’s fleet will expand from 19 to 21 vessels.

The new vessel will be equipped with specialized features designed to meet the demands of oil and gas operations in Southeast Asia, while also being deployable to Northeast Asia to support offshore wind farm projects.

One of the vessels will be owned by PT Pelayaran Nasional Bina Buana Raya, an indirect subsidiary in which Marco Polo Marine holds a 71% stake. Measuring 60.8 meters in length and 16 meters in width, it is equipped with a DP2 dynamic positioning system and a firefighting system.

Another vessel will be registered in Singapore, featuring larger hull dimensions at 76 meters in length and 18.5 meters in width. It will also be equipped with a DP2 dynamic positioning system and firefighting systems.

Earlier this month, Marco Polo Marine also announced the construction of a new commissioning support vessel (CSOV) specifically designed for the offshore wind and oil and gas markets. The vessel will be built at Marco Polo Shipyard in Batam, Indonesia, with construction scheduled to commence in the second quarter of 2026 and delivery expected in the second quarter of 2028.
