On September 16, CSSC (Tianjin) Shipbuilding, a subsidiary of Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (DSIC), commenced construction of a 307,000 DWT LNG dual-fuel crude oil carrier for Greece’s CAPITAL Shipping.

This vessel is the first LNG dual-fuel VLCC built by CSSC (Tianjin) Shipbuilding. Relying on DSIC’s rich experience in VLCC design and construction, and based on the concerted efforts of all departments, construction was started 30 days ahead of schedule, creating favorable conditions for the subsequent smooth construction of the vessel.
This vessel is a newly designed, next-generation economical large ocean-going oil tanker from DSIC. With an overall length of approximately 332.95 meters, a beam of 60 meters, a depth of 30 meters, and a design draft of 20.5 meters, it is classified by Lloyd’s Register.
The vessel is equipped with a MAN B&W dual-fuel main engine utilizing LNG as primary fuel. The main engine incorporates EGRTC technology, while the generator set features SCR systems, ensuring nitrogen oxide emissions comply with NOx Tier III requirements.
The vessel is equipped with a propeller-mounted PSV at the stern, a propeller boss cap fin (PBCF) added behind the propeller, and a shaft generator. Its carbon dioxide emissions meet the requirements of the EEDI Phase III stage, further enhancing energy efficiency and economic performance.
