HRDD launched a 22,000 Mton lifting capacity floating dock built for Spain’s Tenerife Shipyards

On September 5, Huarun Dadong Dockyard Co., Ltd. (HRDD) successfully launched a 22,000 Mton lifting capacity floating dock built for Spain’s Tenerife Shipyards. Not only did this project shorten the original construction schedule by six days, but it also achieved an industry-leading construction speed by completing the installation and joining of over 10,000 tons of steel structure sections in just 26 days.

The Spanish 22,000 Mton floating dock is 240 meters long and 48 meters wide, and isclassed by LR. The contract period is 15 months.

The floating dock project entered the dock for assembly on August 10th, the main structure of the dock wall took shape on the 16th, the main hull was fully completed on the 20th, all structural and cabin tightness tests were completed on August 29. And on September 4th, the underwater engineering and outer plate coating works were finished.

During the construction of the floating dock, the HRDD construction process earned praise from the shipowner for its construction “speed” and “quality.” With zero major deviations across 558 UT inspections and 158 PAUT inspections, the weld pass rate reached 98.5%. During his speech at the floating dock’s launch ceremony, Jonathan Perez, CEO of Hidramar Group, revealed that both parties will deepen their cooperation on the floating dock project in the future.
