CSSC Chengxi Holds Keel-Laying for an 84,500 DWT Bulk Carrier and Steel-Cutting for a MR Tanker

On August 21st, CSSC Chengxi Shipyard, a subsidiary of CSSC, laid keel for the first block of the 7th 84,500 DWT bulk carrier built for CITIC Financial Leasing.

It is reported that currently, a total of 20 blocks of the vessel have been assembled first and then painted, providing strong guarantee for the continuous lifting on the slipway.

On August 22, CSSC Chengxi Shipyard successfully cut steel for the 11th vessel, a 50,000 DWT MR tanker of the independently developed “Hongyun” series, for Singfar. This is the second newbuilding to begin construction at the company in August, bringing the total number of 11 50,000 DWT MR tankers currently under construction at the company’s headquarters.
