HRDD Makes Progress on 22,000-Mton Panamax Floating Dock Project for Spanish Client

On August 10, Huarun Dadong Dockyard Co., Ltd. (HRDD) achieved the important milestone of assemblying the 22,000 Mton lifting capacity floating dock blocks in Spain as planned, demonstrating HRDD’s strong capabilities in management, technology, and craftsmanship in the field of large floating dock construction.

On November 1, 2024, HRDD signed a contract with Tenerife Shipyards of Spain to build a Panamax 22,000 Mton lifting capacity floating dock.

The Spanish 22,000 Mton floating dock is 240 meters long and 48 meters wide, and isclassed by LR. The contract period is 15 months. It is scheduled to be launched in September 2025.

HRDD has completed five large floating dock construction projects and the conversion project of three floating docks, accumulating extensive experience in the area and earning praise from shipowners for its quality. The 22,000 Mton Spanish floating dock currently under construction is the sixth large floating dock undertook by HRDD.

Tenerife Shipyards belongs to the Hidramar Group, a Spanish family-owned group of shipyards located in the Canary Islands. The Hidramar Group operates two shipyards, including Tenerife Shipyards, which specializes in offshore fabrication and technical maritime services.
