New Dayang Shipyard delivers two 3.0 version Crown 63 bulk carriers

On July 24 and 25, New Dayang Shipyard, a subsidiary of Sumec Marine, delivered two 3.0 version Crown 63 bulk carriers built for Hong Kong CHELLSHIP and Greece JME Shipping. The two new ships were named “DARYA PRIYA” and “PRINCESS EIRINI” respectively.

It is understood that the 3.0 version of the Crown 63 bulk carrier has a total length of 199.99 meters, a width of 32.26 meters, and a depth of 18.80 meters with completely independent intellectual property rights. This type of ship offers the following advantages: significantly increased cargo capacity, as well as notable improvements in speed and fuel consumption compared to the CROWN63 2.0 version. Its EEDI value far exceeds the baseline, making it a leading vessel in terms of the PHASE 3 phase.

Through cooperation with a professional Japanese design company, the ship’s hull lines have been re-optimized, and energy-saving and consumption-reducing designs have been adopted to achieve the renewal and upgrading of advantageous ship types. At the same time, Sumec actively promotes the configuration of product series, providing multiple configuration options such as low-resistance coating, desulfurization tower, high-voltage shore power system, and ship intelligent system to meet the ship use needs of different ship owners in various scenarios.

At the delivery ceremony, Mr. Prakash Bhoopatkar, Vice President of Hong Kong CHELLSHIP Shipping, praised the 3.0 version of the Crown 63 bulk carrier as a forward-looking ship type. The ship is fuel-efficient and of high quality, and is also a model of successful cooperation between CHELLSHIP Shipping, SUMEC Marine and New Dayang Shipyard. He looks forward to more cooperation opportunities in the future and a long-lasting relationship between the two sides.

JME Shipping representative Mr. George Drainakis said, “PRINCESS EIRINI is the first of three 3.0 version Crown 63 bulk carriers. Her delivery is a proud milestone, symbolizing the hard work, cooperation, and shared ambition of all parties involved.”
