China Merchants Industry Qingdao Shipyard cut steel for two 82,000DWT bulk carriers

On July 16, China Merchants Industry Qingdao Shipyard held a steel cutting ceremony for the 82,000DWT series bulk carrier project No. 17 and No. 23 built for the Greek company Starbulk.

It is reported that the 82,000DWT series bulk carrier project No. 17 and No. 23 are the sixth batch of vessels to commence construction under this project and also the second batch of products being built for StarBulk shipowners.

China Merchants Industry Qingdao Shipyard has drawn on previous construction experience and achieved upgrades in new vessel hull line and propeller matching optimization, green energy-saving design, shaft generator and cargo hold bottom reinforcement, enabling high-quality shipbuilding.

China Merchants Industry Qingdao Shipyard stated that it will work closely with shipowners and ship inspectors to strictly control all aspects of the process, push forward with construction, and ensure the high-quality delivery of the series of vessels.
