On July 11, CSSC Chengxi Shipyard, one of the leading shipyards in China with strong capacity, delivered the second 84,500 DWT dry bulk carrier “CSPC TAURUS” built for CITIC Financial Leasing 173 days ahead of the contract period, marking another important milestone for the company in the field of green shipbuilding.
As the second sister vessel of the 84,500 DWT series of dry bulk carriers, the vessel successfully achieved the first commercial delivery of the construction assembly.
Through the vigorous promotion of professional management, standardized construction, and refined project management, CSSC Chengxi Shipyard has significantly improved construction efficiency, achieving power generation into operation in 25 days and achieving the main engine into operation 10 days before sea trials, setting a new record for the construction cycle of this series of vessels. Ultimately, the “CSPC TAURUS” was successfully delivered 173 days ahead of schedule.
The “CSPC TAURUS” is a green vessel built by CSSC Chengxi Shipyard, combining advanced technology and innovative design. The vessel has a total length of 225.0 meters, a width of 36 meters, a design draft of 10 meters, a structural draft of 14.5 meters, a design speed of 15.5 knots, and a cruising range of 25,000 nautical miles. It is an energy-efficient and environmentally friendly green and intelligent vessel.
The cargo holds onboard are box-shaped and equipped with rotary dehumidifiers, which can fully guarantee the quality and safety of pulp cargo transportation. In addition to meeting the loading requirements of pulp customers, the vessel can also carry high-speed trains, wind power equipment, new energy vehicles, large machinery and equipment, and extra-long and heavy steel pipe pile structures. To ensure the safe transportation of new energy vehicles, this series of vessels is equipped with a “one-to-one” temperature monitoring and warning system.
The vessel is capable of transporting various types of cargo, including grain, pulp, bulk cargo, and containers. Its design adheres to green, environmentally friendly, and energy-efficient principles, and it is equipped with advanced propulsion systems, desulfurization systems, and main engine SCR systems. These features significantly improve navigation efficiency and stability while reducing energy consumption and emissions.
