On June 30, China Merchants Industry Weihai Shipyard delivered the sixth PCTC “LAKE VICTORIA” (W0305) to EPS.
It is understood that “LAKE VICTORIA” is 199.9 meters long, 38 meters wide, with a designed draft of 8.6 meters and a speed of 19 knots. The PCTC is equipped with 12 car decks, which can carry 7,000 family cars. The car decks are divided into fixed and movable types, which greatly improves the efficiency of cargo loading and unloading and the economic benefits of vessel’s operation.
In terms of environmental protection, the PCTC is equipped with an advanced high-pressure dual-fuel system, two 2,000 m³ LNG storage tanks, as well as a hybrid propulsion system of shaft generator and lithium battery, and adopts a number of environmentally friendly technologies. Therefore, it can significantly reduce the emissions of SOx, particulate matter and carbon, and meet the TIER III emission standards of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), with the advantages of economy, energy saving, environmental protection and high efficiency.
The delivery of the “LAKE VICTORIA” further demonstrates China Merchants Industry Weihai Shipyard’s technical capabilities in the field of high-end shipbuilding and lays a solid foundation for further deepening cooperation between the two parties in the future.
