In the first half of this year, CSSC (Tianjin) Shipbuilding not only achieved a comprehensive acceleration of production progress and exceeded the workload of each process, but also showed frequent highlights in technological innovation, management optimization and other aspects, fully achieving the “double” (half-year target in both production and tasks) goal, laying a solid foundation for the high-quality completion of the annual production plan.
In the first half of this year, CSSC (Tianjin) Shipbuilding delivered three 16,000TEU container ships with a total deadweight tonnage of 504,000 tons, all of which were LNG dual-fuel container ships. As of the end of June, CSSC (Tianjin) Shipbuilding held orders for 36 vessels/7.8 million deadweight tons/nearly RMB 30 billion, with production plans extending to 2028.
In the first half of 2025, CSSC (Tianjin) Shipbuilding planned to complete 26 shipbuilding nodes, but actually completed 31, with a completion rate of 119.2%. Among them, 19 nodes were completed ahead of schedule, and 5 nodes originally scheduled for the second half of the year were achieved in advance, demonstrating strong production execution capabilities.
In terms of product delivery, several vessels achieved major breakthroughs. The C16K-9, delivered on January 9, is the first LNG dual-fuel container ship built by CSSC (Tianjin) Shipbuilding, delivered 172 days ahead of the contractual period. The C16K-12 achieved the first fuel/gas integrated sea trial, with key cycles shortened by 62 days compared to the C16K-9. As the first vessel co-constructed by the General Assembly Second Department of Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (DSIC) and CSSC (Tianjin) Shipbuilding, the C16K-13 shortened key cycles by 34 days compared to the C16K-9, continuously refreshing shipbuilding speed and technical standards.
In terms of production efficiency improvement, multiple measures have achieved remarkable results. CSSC (Tianjin) Shipbuilding focused on improving the efficiency of 800-ton cranes. From January to May, the average hook occupancy time of 800T cranes in the dock production line was shortened by 20.3% compared with the same period in 2024. The monthly output of the FCB assembly line doubled compared with 2024, and the maximum monthly output of block assembly and painting both increased by 25% compared with the maximum monthly output in 2024. CSSC (Tianjin) Shipbuilding launched the construction of a small block intelligent manufacturing production line with a monthly capacity of about 4,500 tons, doubling the efficiency of other small block sites, injecting new momentum into production.
Facing the challenges of production acceleration and increased volume in 2025, as well as the shortage of iron outfitting parts and pipes caused by vessel insertion, CSSC (Tianjin) Shipbuilding took rapid action and implemented multiple measures. CSSC (Tianjin) Shipbuilding has implemented a series of measures to gradually improve pallet availability, providing a solid foundation for subsequent production.
