On June 19, Nantong Xiangyu Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering Co., Ltd. (Nantong Xiangyu SOE) officially kicked off construction on two 6,800 DWT stainless steel chemical tankers for Tianjin Huasheng International Shipping.
The 6800DWT duplex stainless steel chemical tanker has a total length of 113.60 meters, a width of 17.60 meters and a depth of 9.00. The vessel is equipped with 14 independent isolated cargo holds, each of which is integrated with a 300m³/h electric deep well pump. It is powered by a MAN 6L32/40 main engine and CPP adjustable propellers, and is equipped with a shaft generator to achieve autonomous power supply during navigation. It meets the IMO Tier III emission standards, and the hull has passed the Finnish-Swedish Ice Class 1A certification.
The vessel can simultaneously carry chemicals with differentiated corrosiveness, significantly shortening port operation time. It can operate safely throughout the year in sea areas with 0.8-meter ice thickness and adapt to extreme environments of -25°C. Its “low energy consumption + high compatibility + all-weather” characteristics provide an optimized solution for the transportation of high value-added chemicals in Northern Europe.
According to reports, the two stainless steel chemical tankers under construction have reached the world’s leading level, leading the industry’s carbon reduction process. BV Classification Society will provide customized plan review and on-site inspection throughout the process.
