ZPMC Secures Key Contract for a semi-submersible test platform design project

Recently, Shanghai Zhenhua Port Machinery (ZPMC) successfully signed the contract for the detailed design of the semi-submersible test platform for the National Marine Comprehensive Test Field (Weihai) Construction Project EPC issued by CCCC National Engineering Research Center of Dredging Co., Ltd.

The specific design task was undertaken by the Design and Research Institute of ZPMC, marking that the group’s offshore engineering equipment design capabilities have once again been highly recognized by the industry.

It is understood that the construction content of the National Marine Comprehensive Test Field (Weihai) project mainly includes seven items, including offshore fixed, floating, bottom-mounted and mobile test platforms, and is equipped with three systems, including background field monitoring, on-site operation testing of marine instruments and equipment and test support.

Among them, the semi-submersible test platform is used as scientific research and test support equipment for the Weihai offshore test site. It will provide test positions, lifting equipment, power supply, on-site laboratories, public communications and safety protection for marine instruments and equipment, ensure the installation and deployment of test instruments and equipment at sea, meet the needs of marine instrument equipment, and take into account the marine environment monitoring function for certain test areas.

The platform is classified by China Classification Society and is a steel non-self-propelled semi-submersible platform with a maximum operating depth of 70 meters. It is equipped with power systems, test facilities, environmental monitoring systems, and safety assurance systems. The platform can be moved and operated in the test field sea area and is positioned by an 8-point mooring system during operation.

The Design and Research Institute of ZPMC has extensive experience in offshore engineering equipment design and strong technical research and development capabilities. The successful landing of the semi-submersible test platform design contract has actively responded to the strategic requirements of CCCC to create original technology sources for deep-sea technical equipment. ZPMC will take this project as an opportunity to continuously consolidate and enhance CCCC’s collaborative innovation capabilities of advantageous resources and contribute to the construction of a strong maritime nation.
