Dutch company Van Wijngaarden Marine Services has signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with Kooiman Marine Group for the design and construction of a next-generation DP2 Multi Purpose Vessel (MPV) 4716.
This newbuild MPV is engineered for ultimate flexibility, whether in shallow waters, anchor handling operations, subsea work, or supporting offshore and renewable energy projects.
The vessel will have a length of 47 metres, a 16 metre beam and a 2.60 metre draft. The vessel features 2 deck cranes (17 ton at 21 meters outreach), tow/AH winch (50/220 ton pull, 250/250 ton hold), and offers moden accommodation for 27 crew with a mix of single and double cabins.
The vessel will be built to the highest standards, incorporating the latest in IMO Tier III emissions and ULEV (Ultra Low Emission Vessel) compliance. With a diesel-electric / hybrid propulsion system, it offers both efficiency and environmental responsibility.
Kooiman Marine Group will construct the vessel entirely at its own shipyard. By carrying out the hull construction in the Netherlands as well, this vessel will truly be a Dutch-built product.
With this order, Van Wijngaarden Marine Services’ fleet has expanded to 20 vessels. The company’s fleet is currently active in a variety of fields such as offshore wind power, oil and gas.
