On June 6, Guangxi Xijiang Heavy Industry officially kicked off the construction of the green intelligent demonstration ship of Guangxi’s major science and technology project “Green and Intelligent Xijiang Ship Key Technology Research and Engineering Demonstration” (hereinafter referred to as “Green Intelligent Xijiang Key Technology”), marking a new milestone in the research work on green and intelligent Xijiang key technologies as well as Guangxi’s shipping sector has entered a new era of green and intelligent.
The Green and Intelligent Xijiang Key Technology Project is led by Guangxi CSSC Beibu Gulf Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering Design Co., Ltd., and jointly researched by Wuhan University of Technology, Guangxi Beigang Xijiang Port Co., Ltd., Guiping Yanyan Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., and Houpu Clean Energy (Group) Co., Ltd.
After two years of research, the project has overcome key technologies such as typical ship types, channel seaworthiness, intelligent control systems, and power propulsion systems through data collection and analysis, digital simulation models, tank physical model tests, and comprehensive demonstrations, forming multi-target and multi-level research results.
The design concept of the demonstration vessel uses the research results of the efficient upright new bow, LNG power propulsion system, intelligent energy efficiency control system, etc., achieving a perfect combination of excellent performance and energy saving and environmental protection. The design significantly reduces carbon emissions, improves operational efficiency, enhances navigation safety and reliability, helps the shipping industry achieve the “dual carbon” goal and makes a positive contribution to environmental protection.
The commencement of this project is an important milestone in the major scientific and technological research work, and also a new starting point for the development of Guangxi’s shipping industry. Through technological innovation, it will bring more efficient, more environmentally friendly and more intelligent solutions to inland waterway shipping.
