On May 22, the first self-operated ro-ro vessel “JISU FORTUNE” of Jisu Logistics, a subsidiary of Zhejiang Geely Holding Group (Geely Holding), completed its naming and maiden voyage ceremony in Taicang Port Area of Suzhou Port. The vessel’s maiden voyage will carry more than 5,000 cars to Britain, the Netherlands, Belgium and other European countries.
“JISU FORTUNE” is the first ro-ro vessel owned by Geely Holding’s Jisu Logistics. It effectively guarantees the stability of automobile exports, supports the large-scale export of complete vehicles and components overseas, and builds a stable, reliable and more cost-competitive overseas channel for Chinese automobile companies.
It is worth mentioning that the “JISU FORTUNE” is a 7,000 CEU LNG dual-fuel car carrier ordered by Israeli shipowner Zodiac Maritime ordered from CIMC Raffles in June 2022.Through long-term chartering, Jisu Logistics obtains customized capacity resources from global famous shipowners. Earlier, BYD also chartered BYD EXPLORER NO. 1 through Zodiac Maritime.
“JISU FORTUNE” has an overall length of 199.9 meters, a beam of 38 meters, and is equipped with 7,000 standard loading spaces. The vessel has 12 decks, which can be used to load fuel oil vehicles and lithium battery vehicles, of which 4 decks can be lifted to match different sizes of vehicles, and the 11th and 12th decks can also be used to transport new energy vehicles fueled by hydrogen and natural gas.
Equipped with two sets of 2,000 cubic meters C-type LNG storage tanks, it is a new generation of environmentally friendly vessel that uses green and clean LNG fuel as its main fuel. It can significantly reduce emissions of nitrogen oxides (NOx) and sulfur oxides (SOx), and effectively improve the energy-saving and emission reduction efficiency of the vessel.
