According to Xiamen Customs, in the first quarter of this year, China’s Fujian Province exported a total of RMB 3.5 billion (about 480 million U.S. dollars) of ships, a year-on-year increase of 2.9 percent, the export value of the same period of a record high.
Data shows that state-owned enterprises are the main force in Fujian’s ship exports, exporting RMB 2.93 billion of ships in the first quarter, accounting for 83.7% of Fujian’s total ship exports during the same period. During the same period, Fujian’s private enterprises performed well, exporting RMB 520 million of ships, a year-on-year increase of 1.1 times.
According to Xiamen Customs, Fujian’s exports of ships to traditional markets such as the EU and emerging markets such as Latin America have maintained a growth trend.
In the first quarter, Fujian’s exports to these markets were RMB 510 million and RMB 870 million, up 9.1% and 77.4% year-on-year, respectively. During the same period, Fujian’s exports to other RCEP member countries grew strongly, totaling RMB 1.16 billion, up 1.1 times year-on-year, accounting for 33.1% of Fujian’s total ship exports during the same period.
At the same time, Fujian’s ship export products are showing a diversified development trend. Among them, ro-ro ships are a popular export category, with Fujian exporting a total of RMB 1.26 billion in the first quarter, accounting for 35.9% of Fujian’s total ship exports in the same period.
