SITC International Holdings Company Limited (SITC) announced on its official website that on August 10, SITC and Huanghai Shipbuilding held a naming and delivery ceremony for the newly built 1,800 TEU container ship “SITC Brave”. The delivery of this vessel will further expand SITC’s high-quality shipping capacity and optimize its fleet structure.

This vessel has an overall length of 172.00 meters, a beam of 28.4 meters, and a design speed of 18.5 knots. It is equipped with a high-efficiency propeller, an energy-saving twisted rudder, an SCR system, a desulfurization tower, and 258 refrigerated containers, and meets Tier III emissions standards.
As previously announced, SITC signed an order with Huanghai Shipbuilding on June 29, 2024, for 4+6 1,800-TEU container ships. Since “all applicable percentage thresholds for transactions under the relevant shipbuilding contract were below 5%,” this order was not disclosed at the time.
In October 2024, SITC announced the activation of the first two option vessels; on January 24, 2025, it announced the activation of the third and fourth option vessels; and on April 29, 2025, it announced the activation of two more, bringing the total number of activated option vessels to six. SITC has placed orders for a total of ten 1,800 TEU container ships with Huanghai Shipbuilding, with a total order value of US$290 million.
