On April 18th, CWEC held a grand celebration for the successful delivery of its first Wärtsilä 32M. As a key 2025 milestone, the event brought together guests from all sectors to witness this historic moment and usher in a new era of green transformation in marine power.

Since 2015, CWEC has driven a decade of innovation, exploring new quality productive forces and expanding its product range through advanced testing capabilities. From delivering the first Wärtsilä 32 (2017) to breakthrough testing of the Wärtsilä 32M today, each milestone reflects our technological leap and leadership.

The success of the methanol engine project is attributable to the strong support of both shareholders and the close collaboration of all parties involved. Representatives from the Consulate General of Finland in Shanghai, Lingang Management Committee, Lingang Industry Zone, Ni Cheng Town Government; DSIC, CPGC, Wärtsilä China and CCS, LR, and BV, etc. witnessed this milestone, underscoring the power of international and local cooperation.

Using methanol as fuel brings significant environmental benefits to shipping. It reduces CO₂ emissions by 7%, SOx by 99%, and NOx by 60% compared to traditional fuels, advancing the industry’s low – carbon and  green transition.

The global shipping industry is experiencing rapid growth in green methanol demand. With over 300 methanol-fueled vessels currently on order, CWEC has proactively developed testing capabilities for the Wärtsilä 32M, positioning us at the forefront of this emerging market. We are committed to delivering reliable, cutting-edge green propulsion solutions to our customers.

At the event, CWEC provided a systematic explanation of its safety practices. From the scientific planning and layout of factory facilities to the rigorous control of testing procedures, we integrate the concept of safety into every aspect of production and operations, building a solid barrier to safeguard the lives of employees and the interests of customers in all dimensions.
