CCC UE’s multi-purpose diving support vessel “Wadad Aletheia” sets sail on maiden voyage

On September 25th, “Wadad Aletheia”, a multi-purpose saturation diving support vessel of CCC (Underwater Engineering) S.A.L (CCC(UE)), started its maiden voyage.

Classed by Det Norske Veritas (DNV), “Wadad Aletheia” is one of the most advanced diving vessels in the world built by Shanghai Zhenhua Port Machinery (ZPMC) for CCC UE. It has a length of 145.9 meters, a beam of 27 meters, a depth of 11.33 meters, and it accommodates a crew of 200. Equipped with a 400-ton wave-compensated telescopic crane and DP3 positioning system, it has a maximum speed of 15.8 knots.

The vessel is equipped with the most advanced 24-person saturation diving system. The complete system integrates the living compartment, transition compartment, escape compartment, diving bell, and life-support system, and its maximum opration depth can reach 300 meters underwater.

“Wadad Aletheia has an operating deck area of 1,850 square meters, which exceeds that of similar vessels. The main deck has a minimum load capacity of 15 tons per square meter, while the reinforced deck area has a load capacity of up to 50 tons per square meter, which can effectively support the transportation and deployment of heavy equipment and special machinery required for various construction projects.

The vessel integrates the functions of deep-water ROV operation and deep-water lifting and installation operation. It has the capability of deep-diving survey, installation, maintenance, salvage and other multi-task operations in global waters, and its comprehensive operational capability is at an advanced level in the world.

Established in 1976, CCC(UE) formed initially as a commercial diving company operating in the Arabian Gulf, and it has evolved since 2000 into an offshore construction company providing enhanced services covering worldwide operations.

Now the company has expanded its roles to include charter of DP2 Marine Vessels, Mixed Gas Diving, Saturation Diving, Remotely Operated Vehicles., Trenching, Cable Laying and Installation/Construction Works.

Additionally CCC (UE) has expanded its line of business to include the installation of subsea tie-ins, risers, boat landings, SBM’s, inspection, repair, maintenance of offshore subsea assets (I.R.M.) like flexible pipelines/umbilical’s and cables. The majority of the business lines conducted by CCC (UE) are undertaken utilising its owned and operated assets.
